
Career
Prior to establishing his consulting practice, Avrim had the benefit of 35 years of experience in leading and supporting change in both the private and public sectors. He was President & CEO of the Forest Products Association of Canada during a decade of rapid change, and for 25 years he held senior policy positions in the government of Canada responsible for national policy in areas as diverse as climate change, biodiversity, child poverty, employment insurance and labor force training. He has been a Director of both private and public sector boards.
Coaching
Avrim works individually with senior executives and CEOs and collectively with leaders of diverse often competing organizations. He helps groups to identify shared interests and practical pathways for pursuing those interests.
He helps clients make whole cloth of the competing threads of economic, environmental and social progress. His approach puts a priority on changes at speed and scale.
Qualifications/Certifications
Avrim holds a PhD in Education (1976) from the University of Ottawa and has been recognized for his leadership many times, including outstanding leadership awards from the United Nations Association and Corporate Knights.
