
Career
Elizabeth Walker is an executive coach and organization development consultant focused on leadership and culture, and with a specialty in workplaces experiencing disruptive change. She helps aspiring leaders, executives and teams to expand their ideas of what is possible, and to use and extend their strengths to achieve it.
Elizabeth established her leadership and organization development practice in 2013, bringing to it over 20 years of management and leadership experience in technical and creative environments.
In the global telecommunications industry (Newbridge, Alcatel, Alcatel-Lucent), she led geographically-dispersed and multi-cultural teams through periods of accelerated growth and retraction, mergers and acquisitions, and rapidly changing technologies. Following the 2006 merger of telecom giants Alcatel and Lucent, she moved to the U.K. to lead operational marketing functions in various regions in Europe and Asia. While there shetransitioned to business transformation roles and supported organization changes affecting thousands of employees. She also contributed to reshaping the company culture through European diversity initiatives and a redefinition of the leadership competencies to reduce gender bias.
Coaching
Elizabeth is adept at facilitating self-awareness and opening a broader range of perspectives and choices, essential for effectiveness during change — both personal and organizational. She guides leaders and teams to challenge their assumptions, and to identify and build on their strengths.
Since 2014, Elizabeth has been coaching execs and aspiring execs in the Public Service. Her personalized approach has proven to be highly effective in preparing candidates for EX competitions and helping execs continue to learn and lead in their changing environments.
Qualifications/Certifications
Elizabeth holds the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential from International Coach Federation, and a graduate certificate in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University. She is certified to use the emotional intelligence assessment tools EQ-i 2.0 and EQ360.
Elizabeth has an MBA from the University of Colorado (Colorado Springs) where she received the award for Outstanding Graduate in Technology Management. She also holds an MA in Canadian Studies and an Honours BA in English Literature from Carleton University.
